The Gospels reveal that during His earthly ministry, Jesus was on a mission to make more and better disciples. Before ascending to heaven, Jesus commanded His followers to go and make disciples of all nations. Therefore, the mission of Jesus has become the mission of the Church. If I am truly a disciple, I will join Jesus on His mission and use my gifts and abilities to serve Him rather than myself.
