Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing is one of the more popular Christmas carols around today. Many of the carols we sing have a rich theological tradition and this one is no exception. In this message, Pastor Rex examines Philippians 2:5-11, from which the lyrics of stanza two of this carol are based. Often referred to as the Christ Hymn, Paul points to Jesus’ incarnation and exaltation here in order to motivate Christians to follow His example of humility.

Nothing can compare to the simplicity and devotion of Christmas carols. During what is usually the busiest season of the year, we’re all blessed to sing carols, whether in church or at an informal gathering in our homes. These messages are based on the background and the text of various carols that are familiar to us all. You will be encouraged to go deeper in your own understanding and appreciation of the One who was born in Bethlehem.
